All About Me

Hello all.  I’m Heather Estey, Mrs. Estey to our students here at BES for the past 24 years in 5th and 6th grade.  I actually had my start in education here in 1989 as a parent volunteer in kindergarten with my oldest child.  That parent volunteer gig led to substitute teaching, then to my decision to go back to UVM for my teaching certification. I grew up in suburban Boston, then came to UVM for a BA in Psychology, followed by a fifth year certificate in Education and a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. My participation in the Vermont Mathematics Initiative led to my passion for mathematics instruction. I am currently a 6th grade classroom teacher, and responsible for all 6th grade math instruction here at Bristol Elementary School. Outside of school, my favorite things to do are to read, sing in my church choir, travel to Maine and Colorado (home of my son Alex and family), and spend time with my amazing grandsons.
