John was very well received by the BES community when he visited the school on March 3 and everyone we have spoken with at John's current school speaks very highly of him. He brings with him a lot of great energy, a supportive leadership style and a passion for improving outcomes for students.
Mr. Bratko comes to Bristol Elementary School from Summit Hill School District 161 in Frankfort, IL, where he has been the Assistant Principal at the Junior High for the past year. Prior to becoming an administrator, he served as a 6th grade science teacher at Jefferson Middle School in Villa Park, IL for 8 years. Mr. Bratko holds a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry from Eckerd College, a Masters of Education in Instructional Leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from North Central College.

It is an honor to join the school as the new principal and I am looking forward to moving with my wife and 9 month old son to start the next chapter of our lives in the beautiful state of Vermont.
